It’s late to be writing a post about Lent, but I’m of the modest opinion that the practices you take on in Lent aren’t just seasonal.

Some days it’s hard for me to think about the last 24 months or so. I have gone from being an 18-month plan-ahead kind of person to a taking-it-one-day-at-a- time kind of person.
How do we observe Advent?
I’ve been attending yoga classes at my local studio for about a year. I’m into yoga for the stretching and centering, so when Zoe announced that the theme of the Wednesday class was going to be hard work, I immediately got nervous.
In the fall of 2017, I learned about the American Heart Association’s Heart Mini. The race featured a half marathon, a 15K, 5K race, and 5K walk. I thought to myself, hmmm…. 15K… that seems like a big goal, but doable.
In my day job I teach bible stories to 250 kids every week and after I tell a story to each group of twenty students we wonder about it together. I am continually amazed at how deep my students are willing to delve and what amazing insights they have to offer.
