As I write this, tens of thousands of people have gathered for a tenth straight day from New York City to San Francisco, in every state and at least 11 nations, to protest racism and police brutality.
I used to live on Quintard Road. It’s named for Charles T. Quintard, one of the patron saints of Sewanee, Tennessee.
Earlier this year, I met a friend for a remarkable lunch. A relatively new church goer, she had heard a sermon on the beatitudes and wanted to speak with me about whether we Christians were really serious about trying to live that out.
In the fall of 2017, I learned about the American Heart Association’s Heart Mini. The race featured a half marathon, a 15K, 5K race, and 5K walk. I thought to myself, hmmm…. 15K… that seems like a big goal, but doable.
