Raised in the Pentecostal and charismatic Episcopal tradition, she also maintains a meditation practice based on Buddhist principles to maintain a modicum of sanity. Her passions and scholarly interests include landscape studies, material culture, and creative placemaking, especially in areas that might otherwise be marginalized.
